Digvijay
Singh is a former Chief Minister of Madhya
Pradesh and a senior Congress (I) politician..
He has been the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh state for two
five-year terms. He first became Chief Minister of Madhya
Pradesh on December 7, 1993 and continued to hold the post
till November 2003. He is currently a General Secretary of the
All India Congress Committee.
Digvijay
Singh was born in the royal family of Raghogarh
principality, in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. He studied
at the Daly College, Indore. During his school days he was an
outstanding sportsman. He was member of the school team in
cricket, hockey and soccer. He also was the national squash
champion, the youngest to ever win it.
He
is an engineering graduate from SGSITS in Indore. He is
also a St. Stephen's College, Delhi alumni. |

Chitranjan
Singh Ranawat is a hip surgeon. He is based in New York
and is of Indian origin. He is a winner of Padma Bhushan,
which is one of the highest civilian honours of India. He is
considered as one of best orthopaedicians in the world. He has
also authored over 200 papers on orthopaedics.
He
had operated on former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari
Vajpayee's knee.He is the Director of the Orthopeadic Surgery
and Centre for Total Joint Replacement in New York.
Dr
Ranawat reportedly uses a cemented total knee replacement in
which the components are fixed with a bone cement called
methy-methacrylate. Dr Ranawat uses the PFC Modular Knee
system he has developed after years of research with thousands
of cases. He is the co-developer of the Total Condylar Knee
and the PFC Sigma High flexion knee. Dr. Ranawat also helped
design the Ranawat-Burstein Total Hip System and Accolade Hip
System. Dr. Ranawat is a consistent frontrunner on New York
magazine's list of top 100 orthopedic surgeons in the
country.

Raj Singh Dungarpur
was a former president of Board of Control for Cricket in
India. He played first class cricket for 16 years and was in
and out of the Board of Control for more than 20 years. He was
a selector of the national team for two terms. He also managed
the Indian cricket team four times on overseas tours.
He played for
Rajasthan, and he played in 86 first class cricket matches
from 1955 to 1971. He was a medium pace bowler. The gangling
bowler captured 206 wickets in 86 matches and rubbed shoulders
with stalwarts like Vijay Manjrekar, Hanumant Singh and Salim
Durrani.. He was appointed as the Manager of the Indian
Cricket team on a number of occasions. He was also a keen
wildlife enthusiast, as also a keen golfer.
He was also the president
of Cricket Club of India for 13 years in Mumbai. He
served as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in
India for two terms.

Hanumant
Singh was an Indian Cricketer. He played in 14 Tests
for the Indian cricket team from 1964 to 1969. He was later an
International Cricket Council match referee in 9 Tests and 54
One Day Internationals from 1995 and 2002.
He
made his Test debut in the 4th Test against England at Delhi
in February 1964, scoring 105 and so becoming the fifth Indian
to make a Test century on debut, emulating Lala
Amarnath, Deepak Shodhan, AG Kripal Singh &
Abbas Ali Baig.
He
was manager of the Indian team that toured the West Indies in
1983. He was also chairman of the National Cricket Academy,
based in Bangalore, and a coach for Rajasthan.

Prabhat
Patnaik is an Indian Marxist-Leninist economist and
political commentator, who has achieved international acclaim
with his incisive analysis of economics and politics. He is a
professor at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning in
the School of Social Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University
in New Delhi. He is currently Vice-Chairman of the
Planning Board of the Indian state of Kerala.
Prabhat
Patnaik studied at Daly College, on a Government of India
Merit Scholarship. He passed his B.A. with Economics
Honours from St. Stephen's College, Delhi. He went to Oxford
University in 1966 on a Rhodes scholarship and studied at
Balliol College and later at Nuffield College. He obtained his
B.Phil and his D.Phil. degrees from Oxford University. |
